Dear QISS Families and Friends,
Week 7 of the academic year is another short week. This week, Friday is a designated holiday for our parent organisation, QCCI. We trust that you will take the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather that Qingdao is bestowing on us recently. We currently have two more weeks in the 1st Quarter, which means that the weekend following the October National Holiday, we will have a Key Assignment. Please plan accordingly. More information will be sent out regarding Key Assignments soon, but the general schedule is below.

Updates from Upper School Science:
September 22, 2016 – We are finishing Week 7 and everyone is in full swing in each of the science courses. In grade 11 chemistry we did a three day lab purifying dirty, oily water and have also become more familiar with the fundamentals of atoms. In HS Physics we have done many small labs where the students discover physics principles as they run toy cars, walk in front of motion detectors or bounce rubber balls from great heights. In grade 12 Environmental Science, we continue to utilize the web and do research on many topics, such as a country’s vital statistics of average family income rate and natural resource consumption which ultimately impact the environment.
