Dear QISS Families and Friends,
The festival of words week gave us all an opportunity to celebrate the power of words. This year’s theme was “Word Play”. Students spent the week creating word play spaces, word graffiti artwork, and playing word games.
文字节给了我们所有人一个体验文字魅力的机会 。今年的主题是“字词游戏”。同学们利用本周时间布置字词游戏场所、制作涂鸦作品和玩字词游戏。
이번 Festival of words(언어주간)을 통하여 학생들이 언어의 영향력에 관하여 배울수 있는 좋은 기회를 가졌습니다. 올해의 주제는 “언어놀이”로 선정 되었습니다. 학생들은 언어놀이 공간창조, 언어 그래피티아트, 워드게임등에 참가 하였습니다.
On Wednesday, many students competed in the annual spelling bee. We are extremely proud of the students for showing courage and intelligence on stage.
星期三很多同学参加了拼写大赛，看到他们在舞台上表现出来的勇气和聪明才智，我们无比骄傲。
수요일에 많은 학생들이 스펠링비 대회에 참가 하였습니다. 무대위에서 용기와 지성을 보여준 학생들에게 큰 박수를 보냅니다.
Then, on Friday afternoon the Festival of Words week culminated into a variety show showcasing the playfulness and influence of words.
星期五下午的各种表演活动将文字节活动推向了高潮。
이후 금요일에 학생들은 언어의 즐거움과 작용을 보여주는 다양한 행사의 정점을 보여주었습니다.

Next Tuesday, January 22nd the next PEP talk is schedule to begin at 9am in the Parent’s lounge. This informational meeting is most appropriate for upper school parents. See the flyer below.

SCHOOL LIFE
In Mr. Benjamin’s grade 3 class, students were tasked with inventing something of their own after given certain supplies.

Kindergarten students in Ms. Paula’s class are collaborating and solving math problems together.

Mrs. Rodden’s grade 1 students hosted a zoo exhibit discussing different kinds of animals for the Pre-K/Kinder students who are beginning their inquiry unit with this hook.

Mr. Quan’s grade 6 science students are learning about acids and bases, and how human activity can affect weather and climate.

Ms. Rama and Ms. June are beginning the design process with their grade 2 students by spending some time brainstorming about possible solutions to world problems they have encountered or have learned about.
