Welcome to the first edition of the QISS Sports Newsletter! Our student-athletes have been hard at work, kicking off their seasons with passion, teamwork, and grit. Here’s a recap of the exciting matches played by our football and volleyball teams.
U14 Boys Football – Grit and Growth
The U14 Boys Football team began their season with a narrow 1–2 loss to QAIS, but the performance showed strong promise. Coaches praised the team for their control of the game and strong start, highlighting areas for growth such as reducing over-dribbling and improving team chemistry.
Rayden anchored the defense with consistency.
Alex impressed with his effort across the pitch.
Owen courageously stepped in as goalkeeper for the first time.
Jeremy showcased his tenacity in play.
The team is off to a promising start and is eager to grow stronger as the season progresses.
U14 Girls Football – A Determined Start Pays Off
The U14 Girls Football team celebrated a 1–0 victory in their opening match, a testament to their hard work and dedication. Players trained diligently, even giving up their lunch breaks to prepare.
Yoda excelled in goal, confidently commanding the defense.
Janice and Karolina were strong in the backline with secure tackling.
Zoe energized the team with her enthusiasm.
Gracie scored the winning goal to seal the victory.
It was a fantastic start that displayed the team’s unity and determination. Exciting things lie ahead for this group!
U19 Boys Volleyball – Building Foundations
The U19 Boys Volleyball team opened their season with two tough matches, falling 0–2 to ISQ and 1–2 to QAIS. With many players new to the lineup, the team is still shaping its identity.
Avidan (captain) inspired teammates with his vocal leadership.
Andy was recognized for his tireless effort.
Leo, making his debut, impressed with strong serves.
Though there’s room for growth, the team showed glimpses of potential and is looking forward to refining their game in the coming weeks.
U19 Girls Volleyball – Confident and Cohesive Start
The U19 Girls Volleyball team started the season in style, earning back-to-back 2–0 victories against ISQ and QAIS. With strong chemistry from returning players, the team displayed confidence from the outset.
Camie overcame nerves in her first start to deliver a solid performance.
Mia bounced back from early serving struggles with a streak of aces.
Becky (captain) guided the team with calm focus and leadership.
Elsa and Stella, making their debuts, contributed positively to the team’s momentum.
This strong start sets the tone for what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
