QISS Boys and Girls Teams at the ACAMIS Soccer Tournament hosted by QISS at the new campus.

 

  • Saturday April 24:  ACAMIS Soccer Tournament continues at the new campus until 3:30
  • Saturday April 24:  Qingdao MUN Conference continues at the Shangri-la Hotel
  • Wed. and Thurs. April 28-29  Parent Conferences 1:00-5:00pm.  Also Early realse for students at 1:00.  Schedules for lower school conferences will be sent home today.  Upper school students will invite parents to their student-led conference.
  • Monday May 3:   Labor Day Holiday.  No school
  • May 10-14:  Festival of Words--a week long celebration of language and learning.
  • Sat. May 15:  QISS Musical Drama " Ugga" 2:00pm at the new campus.

Onnika Van Oosterbosch (above) led an upper-school assembly Monday about the state of the world to raise awareness for Earth Week.

 

  • April 16:  Upper School Report Cards Sent Home.  Please review and return the signed envelope to school.
  • April 17: (Sat).  SCIENCE FAIR at the new campus 9:30-2:00.  Buses will pick up students one hour later than the normal time.  Buses leave to go home at 2:00.
  • April 17: NEW CAMPUS TOURS.  Tours will begin at 10:00 from inside the main gate outside the dormitory building and will leave every 20 minutes.
  • April 19:  Early Student Release Day.  Students will be dismissed at 1:00 for a staff development day.
  • April 22-24 ACAMIS Soccer Tournament at the new campus.
  • April 28-29 Parent Conferences.

Admissions Notice: QISS is accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year.  Screening will take place between April 20 and May 14 and decisions will be announced by May 15.  Qualified students with a brother or sister already attending QISS will be given priority if the application is recieved by May 1.

Tao Tao (grade 11) inspects a cucumber vine on a field trip to Rijk Swaan seeds this week.

  • Enrollment for 2010-2011 Please return the re-enrollment form to QISS by Monday, March 29.  You may also phone the school office (8890-9802) or email David Addicott at daddicott@qiss.org.  We would like to know if your children will definitely be attending QISS next year, if you are unsure, or if your children will not be attending QISS next year.
  • April 5-9: Spring Vacation
  • April 17 (Sat) Science Fair at the new campus.  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle is the theme of this year's science fair.  Green inforamtion letters have been sent home with more details.
  • April 17: New Campus Tours. Seniors will be giving tours of the new campus facility on Saturday during the science fair.  Tours be every 20 min. beginning at 10:00am.

The glass slipper fits!  Thank you to all who supported this year's Pantomime, produced by the Qingdao International Drama Group.

 

  • Enrollment for 2010-2011: Students were given a re-enrollment survey today for the 2010-2011 school year.  Please indicate whether or not you will be returning to QISS in August and return the survey to school next week.  You may also email the information to David Addicott at daddicott@qiss.org.cn or call the school office at 8890-9802.
  • Hand Foot and Mouth Disease is present in Qingdao.  It normally affects young children.  Please promote regular hand washing as a precaution.  For more information, see the CDC Information here.
  • Soccer referees are needed for school games on Fridays.  Contact Mr. Adie if you can help.  dadie@qiss.org.cn
