Musicians from Grades 3 to 8 performed at Qingdao's 1st International Christmas Market on Wednesday evening at the InterContinental Hotel.
Announcements
- QISS is please to announce the appointment of Dr. Jay Teston as the new School Director. Dr. Teston will assume the position as of August 1, 2012 and lead the school through the next phase of its development. Welcome aboard Dr. Teston!
- The QISS Winter Program takes place tomorrow afternoon. All students should be at school by 1:30 and ready to begin the show at 2:00. Reminder: The admission fee for the performance is the donation of a non-perishable food item or a baby item (formula, diapers, toys) for the Qingdao Children Welfare Institution.
- QISS Upper School Principals and Counsellor would like to thank all of the parents who attended the Upper School Coffee Morning last Tuesday.
- Next week all 10th and 11th grade students who took the PSAT will be receiving their results. The information included will give parents an idea of how well their child will do on the SAT as well as providing information about specific skill strengths and how to improve weaknesses.
- Payment in full is now due for students traveling to the BEIMUN conference in March.

- Congratulation to the QISS Varsity Girls Basketball team for their well played victory against ISQ last Friday. Great job Lady Sharks!
- The QISS Boys Table Tennis Team will compete today and tomorrow at the ACAMIS tournament at ISQ. Good luck boys!
- The QISS Varsity Boys Basketball team plays today against NSWE in the Shark Tank. Good luck Sharks!

- Grade 1 Field Trip to the fire station. Afterwards, we are taking a walk through one of the villages to look at how the local indigenous people live. We are looking for similarities in the materials indigenous people use to make houses.

Friday, December 16
- Grade 1F Key Assignment demonstrating dances as a cultural aspect of a couple of indigenous tribes from Asia followed by a museum walk showing some arts and crafts. All the members of the community are invited to the performance. We will have a Christmas party in class after that.
