Announcements

  • SAT testing takes place tomorrow (Saturday, December 3) at QISS. Students taking the test need to be on campus by 7:45 a.m.
  • The will be an Upper School Coffee Morning next Tuesday, December 6, in US Room 402 for parents interested in learning more about High School graduation requirements, electives and Middle School social issues.
  • High School elective forms need to be turned in to homeroom teachers by Friday, December 9, 2011.
  • Payment is now due for students traveling to the BEIMUN conference in late February. If you need another copy of payment information, please see Mr. Purpura.
  • QISS is looking for qualified substitute teachers among our QISS comminity. We have a need for a Lower School ESL substitute to cover Ms. Yulia's classes while she on maternity leave from Januray 9 to March 30. If you are interested in subbing either short or long term, please contact Alberto Gutierrez (agutierrez@qiss.org.cn), Peter Thorpe (pthorpe@qiss.org.cn) or Bill Corey (wcorey@qiss.org.cn).

  • Middle and High School boys and girls lunch time intramurals continue next week. This includes basketball,soccer, table tennis and badminton. See the schedule below for details. See Mr. Adie for late sign-ups.
  • We are currently looking for volunteers to referee basketball games. Please email Mr. Adie (dadie@qiss.org.cn) if you are interested.
  • The Qingdao Expat Group has a couple of seasonal activities over the next two weeks. Qingdao's 1st International Christmas Market opens today at the InterContinental Qingdao Garden and runs through December 11. QISS will be providing musical entertainment at the market on Wednesday, December 7 from 6:00 until 6:30. The annual Winter Ball will take place Saturday, December 3 at the Shangri La Hotel. The Shark's Tale

  • The QISS Varsity Boys Basketball team played a hard fought game against ISQ yesterday. Unfortunately they ended up on the losing side of a 37-28 score.
  • The QISS Varsity Girls Basketball team plays today against ISQ in the Shark Tank. Good luck Lady Sharks!

Saturday, December 10

  • QISS Winter Program - Students should arrive at school by 1:30 p.m. The program will begin at 2:00 p.m. and last roughly two hours with an intermission. Please help support the QISS charity drive by bringing a non-perishable food item or baby item (diapers, formula, new toy) to donate to the Qingdao Children Welfare Foundation.
