Grade 5 Visits Mosque and Cathedral

The Fifth Grade completed its First Unit of Inquiry regarding Belief Systems with visits to Qingdao Mosque and Saint Michael's Cathedral. As we approached the mosque in the QISS School Bus, there were lots of cheers of "Oh" and "Ah" from all the class as the grand architecture of golden domes and tall minurets appeared. The Imam was very kind to us, as he explained the intricacies of the Islamic Religious Practices. Immediately afterwards, we visited Saint Michael's Cathedral. There, Father Wang, showed us an equal amount of kindness as he explained the purpose of the cathedral and the rites of the Catholic Church. All of these experiences, especially the most memorable one of Zhan Shan Buddhist Temple, have really left a deep impression on us as young people and as committed scholars. The Imam, Father Wang, and espcially Miao Feng will always be fondly remembered for what they had so graciously imparted to us.
