Grade 6 students after conquering Tai Shan during their Chinese cultural field trip this week!

Announcements

  • Welcome back to all of the Upper School staff and students who were away this week on Chinese cultural trips. We hope everyone had a rewarding, educational and enjoyable experience.
  • Spring Break starts today! There will be no classes at QISS next week. Classes will resume on Monday, April 11 at the regular time. Monday will be a Day 2 on the schedule.
  • It is that time of year when we need feedback from parents regarding intentions for the 2011-2012 school year. A re-enrollment letter was sent home with students last week. Please complete the form and return it to the school by April 11, 2011.
  • A draft of the WASC Accreditation Self Study Report can be found on the school’s website at www.qiss.org.cn. The accreditation report is important because it validates the integrity of the school’s program, assures the school community that the school’s purposes are appropriate and assists the school in establishing areas of strengths and areas for improvement.  If you have comments on the report would you please address them to: qisscomments@hotmail.com.  We look forward to receiving your comments.

Global Issues Group (GIG) News

  • "Jiao for Japan" - GIG will be holding a fundraising competition between homerooms (Pre-K through Grade 12) to see which homeroom can raise the most money to support relief efforts in Japan. The winning homeroom will be awarded a pizza party. The fundraiser will run from Wednesday, April 13 to Wednesday, April 20.
  • GIG would like to say THANK YOU to all those who made donations for the Grade 11 & 12 Guizhou trip. Seven hundred yuan was collected and used to purchase sports equipment (badmonton, table tennis, basketball and jump ropes) that will be donated to a local village school in Guizhou.
