Announcements

• The QISS MUN class has a delegation of eight students attending the BEIMUN conference this weekend in Beijing. Good luck!
• Next week is Spirit Week in the Upper School at QISS. The High School and Middle School student councils have organized spirit activities and dress-up themes for each day of the week. Classes can earn points by participating in these activities. The class with the most points will win a popcorn party to end the week. See below for day-by-day details.
• The QISS Science Fair - Back to the Future - takes place next Saturday, March 19, from 9:00 until 2:00. Busses will pick up students 30 minutes later than normal. Parents may view PreK and Kindergarten projects in the library from 9:30 to 10:30. Lower School projects will be on display on the 4th floor of the Upper School building from 9:00 to 12:00. Upper School projects will be on the 3rd floor of the Upper School building also from 9:00 to 12:00. Final awards and presentations will take place after lunch in the theatre from 1:00 to 1:45.
  
• A draft of the WASC Accreditation Self Study Report can be found on the school’s website at www.qiss.org.cn. • After School Activities Session 3 began yesterday and will conclude on May 31. Click here for the activities being offered and the days on which they take place. Please note that Swimming has been changed to Mondays.

• Spirit Week Sports Day - Dress up as your favourite athlete or sports team. Hats, jerseys, special equipment are all fair game!
• Spirit Week lunch time activity - Dizzy Bat Relay.
• Grades 11 & 12 Communication Skills Key Assignment on essay writing skills in room 305 (1:00 - 1:45).
  
• QISS Boys and Girls Soccer teams play against ISQ on the Shark Pitch (4:00 - 5:00). Go Sharks, go!

Tuesday, March 15

• Spirit Week "Fake Injury" Day - bandages, crutches, and arrow through the head...anything goes!
• Spirit Week lunch time activity - Egg on a Spoon Relay Race.
  
• Girls  Soccer Practice on the Shark Pitch (3:30 - 5:00).
  

Wednesday, March 16

• Spirit Week Pajama Day - no need to get dressed today...okay maybe throw on a bathrobe and some slippers.
• Spirit Week lunch time activity - Word Unscramble Race.
• Early dismissal for staff development. Students dismissed at 1:00.

Thursday, March 17

• Spirit Week Twin Day - pair up with a friend and dress the same.
• Spirit Week lunch time activity - Three-Legged-Race with your twin.
• QISN Spelling Bee at YCIS.
• Girls Soccer Practice on the Shark Pitch (3:30 - 5:00).

Friday, March 18

• Spirit Week Colour Day - each class dresses in their designated colour. Grade 6 - green; Grade 7 - yellow; Grade 8 - black; Grade 9 - pink; Grade 10 - blue; Grade 11 - White; Grade 12 - grey.
• Spirit Week lunch time activity - Tug-of-war!
• Lower School report cards sent home.
• Boys Soccer Practice on the Shark Pitch (3:30 - 5:30)
  

Saturday, March 19

• Science Fair (9:00 - 2:00)
• Grade 5 Chemistry Unit of Inquiry  - Nobel Prize winning chemists and period table design - will take place in conjunction with the Science Fair.
  
• Grades 3 & 5 will perform science related songs during the awards presentation of the Science Fair (1:00 - 1:45).
