What's Happening in...Pre K!

Pre K students have been exploring the different kinds of transportation systems and how these vehicles are useful to the community. During the inquiry process the students made a lot of meaningful connections to their own personal lives and showed intelligence and vitality in their eagerness to share this with their peers. They engaged in various learning experiences such as making models of these modes of transportation using materials like cardboard, Lego, playdough, paints, etc. Here are some student verbatim reflecting their understanding of how vehicles help us:

  • “ School bus comes school. Mummy use taxi to go to school. Aeroplane fly to Hongkong and Qingdao.”
  • “When we have lot of blood the ambulance comes. When there’s a fire on a house the fire truck comes.”
  • “When we go shopping and then we go back we take the car and the people drive the car. A car help us to go somewhere.”
  • “Bus go to Kindergarten.”
  • “Boat it sails in the water so you can go somewhere to Texas or China or Taiwan or India."
  • "A bus take us to one place to another.”
