Grade 4 students (above) respresented developed and developing countries and discussed solutions to world issues in their Key Assignment this week.
- Monday March 8 is a 1/2 day for students for staff development. Students will be released at 1:00 and will have additional homework.
- Cinderella the Pantomime, featuring many talented QISS teachers and students, will be Saturday March 13 at 1:00 and 7:00 and Sunday March 14 at 1:00 at the new campus theater. All proceeds go to the Qingdao Expat Charity Fund. Tickets are available from Mr. Addicott at QISS (65RMB Adults; 35RMB children--optional buffet+ performacne for 100 RMB/50RMB)
- March 17 Lower school report cards sent home

QISS hosted The Princeton High School Orchestra for a concert at the new theater this week. Former QISS student Jinie Yoon (above) joined the concert for a violin solo.
- February 12: China Day Performance at the new campus from 1:30-3:00.
- February 15-26 New Year Holiday
- March 1: Classes Resume
- March 2 : After-School activities begin
- March 8: Staff Development day. Students released at 1:00.

Girls and Boys Basketball Teams with coaches Mr. Miles and Mr. Leonard took 4th place at the ACAMIS tournament in Beijing.
- Friday Feb 5: Student Council lock-in at QISS. Students stay at school overnight.
- Tuesday Feb 9: Princeton High School Orchestra concert at the new campus theater 2:00pm. All students will attend. Parents are also welcome.
- Friday Feb 12: Whole-School China Day Performance at the new campus theater 1:30pm. Parents are invited to attend.
- Feb 15-26. Lunar New Year Holiday. School resumes March 1.
- March 2: After School Activities begin.
- China Travel Photo Contest spnsored by PAC. PAC is looking for China photos to display during China Day. Send in photos (5X7) by Feb 10. Write your name and child's grade level on the back.
- The QISS Global Issues Group is rasining money for Haiti Earthquake Victims in cooperation with Partners in Health by selling pancakes and hot chocolate, and by setting up a web link to Partners in Health. Click here to help.

China Day Travel Photo Contest Sponsored by the Parent Advisory Committee:
- Submit China travel pictures (5x7 size) to the office or homeroom teacher by Feb. 5
- Write your name and grade level on the back of the photo
- There will be categories for students, teachers, and parents
- Photos will be displayed on China day
- Winners will be announced in the March Issue of the Newsletter

Student Chess Competition (Above)
- January 22: Grades 3-8 sent representatives to the first QISN (Qingdao International Schools Network) chess tournament.
- January 23: SAT testing
- January 23: Drama Performance at the new QISS auditorium at 7 pm.
- To get to the new campus: Go north on Songling Road about 10 minutes past the No. 2 Middle School. You will pass the new campus on your right. Go past the campus and past a white building with red stripes on the corner. Turn right on the first road past the white building. You will go down a hill and see the main entrance on your right. Parking is avaible outside the main entrance and volunteers will be waiting to guide you.
- January 25: Regular school day.
- January 28-30: ACAMIS Basketball at Beijing.
- January 29: Upper School Report Cards will be sent home with students.
- February 12: China Day Performance scheduled at 1:00 pm.
