Payment Deadlines:

• Parents of new students must pay the non-refundable Registration Fee within two weeks after being informed of the admission to secure their child’s place. 
• For returning students, and new students admitted before May 27th, tuition and fees must be paid in full no later than June 5th, 2011 to guarantee enrollment. Please note: Those who do not pay by this date could have their enrollment given to another student.
• In all cases full payment of tuition and fees must be made prior to a student’s first day of classes.   Late payments will be subject to additional fees.
• Tuition and fees will be prorated on a daily basis for new students who are accepted later on in the school year.
• Tuition and Fees (excepting the Registration fee) may be paid in two installments. The first installment must be paid prior to the first day of classes. The second installment must be paid before January 12, 2012. There is an additional charge of RMB 10,000 that is levied for choosing the two-installment option that must be paid in full with the first installment.   

Discounts Available:

• Early Payment option: Returning students who make full payment of tuition and fees before, Friday, June 01, 2011 will have RMB 4,500 deducted from the total cost. New students who do so will have RMB 2,000 deducted from the total cost.
• Families with more than one child will receive a discount on tuition only. For discount purposes children are ranked according to age: the oldest child receives no discount; the second oldest child receives a discount of 5%; the third oldest child receives a 10% discount; the fourth oldest child receives a discount of 15%.
• For new students who can prove that they previously studied at another international school of Qingdao, the school will waive the registration fee, and they can mke a payment as a returning student.

Insurance:

• Accident and liability insurance are included in the fee structure for accidents that occur at QISS or at a QISS sponsored activity within China.
• Please note: This insurance will cover approved treatments within China only.
• Parents are expected to have their own accident and liability insurance in addition to the school's coverage for accidents that occur when students are not attending QISS or a QISS sponsored activity within or outside of China.

Refund Policy:

• Registration Fee----not-refundable under any circumstances.
• Bus and Lunch Fee---prorated refund of the unused portion of actual fees paid.
• Tuition Fee:


1. If a student leaves within the first four (4) weeks of school (20 school days or less), that student will receive a refund of 50% of the first semester and 100% of the second semester, assuming the tuition for the whole year was paid in one installment. For example, if the tuition paid for a student in the 10th grade was RMB 130,000, the calculation would be as follows: 130,000 full year tuition divided by 2 semesters equals 65,000 per semester. A 50% refund of the first semester would be 32,500. A 100% refund for the second semester would be 65,000. Add these two figures of 32,500+65,000 and the total refund due is RMB 97,500.


2. If a student leaves after four (4) weeks of school (over 20 school days), that student will receive no refund for the first semester and must pay the school 75% compensation for the tuition fee paid for the second semester. For example, if the tuition paid for a child in the 3rd grade was RMB 112,000 and that student leaves after 4 weeks (or more than 20 school days), the calculation would be as follows: 112,000 full year tuition divided by 2 semesters equals 56,000 per semester. The student would receive no refund for the first semester. After deducting the compensation fee of 75% for the second semester, the student would receive a 25% refund for second semester only which equals RMB 14,000. Note: If an early payment discount was previously granted, this amount will be deducted from the refund as well.


3. For those who choose to pay tuition in two installments, there is an additional fee of RMB 10,000. Please note, the refund calculation for those that pay in two installments remains exactly the same as outlined in point b.
