The QISS English Language Learner (ELL) Support Services aim to provide support and instruction in the English language and academic areas to English Language Learners to enable them to be successful in the mainstream classrooms.
본교 ELL부서에서는 학생들에게 향상된 영어지도를 위하며 학생들이 교과목에서 성공적인 학습 결과를 얻기 위하여 노력하고 있습니다.
Through preparation, differentiation, and collaboration with the ELL learners’ classroom teacher, the ELL teaching staff help ELL students learn English as quickly and efficiently as possible while supporting the content-area teachers’ instruction.

Julie Kanel (lower school)
Ms. Julie is from California, USA. She has been in education over 20 years. Her experience includes teaching in the USA and China. She received her Master's degree from UC Berkeley. She says that becoming a teacher was all about making a difference in the lives of children. Her greatest moments teaching include the accomplishments of her students in learning to speak English. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, being outdoors, and being with family.
Jessica Lenhart (middle school)
Ms. Jessica is from North Carolina, USA. This is her 19th year in education. She has taught in North Carolina, Las Vegas, and China. She received her Master's degree from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas in Curriculum & Instruction. She and her husband, John and their two children, came to QISS last year to experience the international life of travel together as a family. Her hero is her mom. She says that her mom showed her how to work hard, provide for the family, and demonstrate unconditional love. Professionally, Mrs. Lenhart is most proud of her National Board Certificaton in English as a New Language. Her advice to students: "Always do your best and follow your dreams".
Miguel Arambula (high school)
Miguel is from California, USA. He is beginning his 6th year in education after spending time teaching in Hawaii, Spain, and Egypt. Miguel earned his Master's degree from the University of New Mexico in Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Studies with a emphasis in TESOL. Mr. Arambula was influenced by his parents who raised 4 children to work hard in school and make a positive impact on their community. Miguel chose teaching because he wants to share his passion for learning. He feels teachers can have a positive impact on their students and help them become more engaged and interested in the world that surrounds them.
